The Giants Won Again ... Here We Go

Well, Bruce Bochy and the Giants got it dun again today, sweeping the Diamondbacks to drop their magic number to 2. That number could fall to 1 if the Padres don't win tonight against the Cubs.

Last night Will Venable went pure Superman to save the Drinos season. Tonight Bud Black sends Jon Garland to the mound to try to hold the line in the NL West and Wild Card races.

Things. Couldn't. Be. More. Dramatic.

Oh, and it's raining in the Diego so the first pitch is delayed.

Here we go.

Three Games In Twoston

The Padres open a three-game series in Houston tonight, and I'm going to take this opportunity to predict three straight wins for the Padres.

Tonight, in Game 1, the Padres put up Mat Latos (1-3 5.47) who is due for a nice outing. I predict a W.

Tomorrow, in Game 2, we're looking at a Jon Garland (3-2 2.06) - Felipe Paulino matchup which translates to one letter for the Padres: W.

And on Sunday, in Game 3, the Padres offer Kev Correia (4-2 3.97) against the Stros' Roy Oswalt. Though the Padres have yet to beat an opposing team's ace all season, I'm thinking they'll make an exception in this case. So, W.

Garland Needs To Get It Dun

Hey Jon,

Let's get this dun tonight against the D-backs.

And when I say get it dun, I mean GET. IT. DUN.

Best,

Query Jon Garland

Reports are that the Padres signed Jon Garland today.

I'm just a guy, sitting around, writing a blog, but this strikes me as exactly the type of player the Padres need.

Get r dun, Jed.
